i choose to do my colouring book in Natural Disaster.

Iain resides in London, UK and creates stunningly beautiful pencil and pen work pieces. Surreal and unique in its own way, using mostly pencil, water colours and pigment pens, he creates portraits of ordinary people but with embellished patterns and watercolour effects, transforming their faces from something plain to something entirely bizarre and wonderful at the same time.

My Altered book

This is my attempt of making altered book. i went to the charity book shop, bought few hardback books and the one i am particularly working on is entitled WAR AND PEACE. i took some images out off the book and drew it on the outside of the book and started carving in the shape of the drawings

Long-Bin Chen

Long-Bin Chen is known for his skilful transformation of out-of-date books, newspapers, magazines, and computer paper into art that—when viewed from a distance—appears to be made of wood or marble.  Chen’s work is not only a commentary on human consumption and waste, it also mourns the pre-digital era of bound books.  His art approaches the book object as an aesthetic object and attempts to combine ideas and concepts from the East with those from the West.

Brian Dettmer is one famous book sculptor out there. his innovative book sculptures caught my eyes, the details, scale and the form of the sculptures are quite stunning.

In this video Brian talks about how the value of books has reduced due to the new media and how he like to taking a book and redefine into something else.
